Do a practice run. Because the combination of stitches can seem a little complex at first, practice the sequences on a swatch to get the hang of it before you launch into a sock. These socks can be worked with any kind of toe shaping you like, but the book features a star decreasing method right made up of simple decrease rounds that should be familiar to confident beginners.

Knitting Tutorial - Sidewalk Talk Flip-Flop Socks

Socks are one of those projects that I have wanted to tackle for years and have simply never gotten around to. Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of this book. I am not sure which method i like best. I am still trying to work out my swatch my knitting leaves something to be desired. Knitting tube socks with this method sounds great and I can see myself actually finishing the project. While I have knit several pairs of socks, I am still not confident picking up the stitches for the gusset and having it look nice on both sides. Tube socks would definitely eliminate that step!

I usually dislike tube socks for the sake there is no heel, but this sounds like they stretch out beautifully. Would love to see a pair in person knit up! And who knows..
